Open Mic Poetry Reading

  • Yum! Kitchen & Bakery 4000 Minnetonka Boulevard St. Louis Park, MN, 55416 United States (map)

Join us for an open mic poetry reading to share poems and connect with other members of the community to kick off National Poetry Month. In celebration of our theme, "Poetry in Many Languages," we invite poets to read in any language, or share a poem about language itself. This is an opportunity to hear foreign languages, expand our community of poets, and even meditate on learning a new language. We welcome readers of all ages, funny and serious verse, spoken word, hip hop, songs, etc. Material should be "family friendly" and appeal to a wide audience.

Free to attend, located in the back room of Yum! Snacks will be provided, beverages available for purchase. Donations are appreciated to support the arts in St. Louis Park. Our hosts for the evening are Diane Pecoraro, Community Poet, and Rigoberto Castro Velasquez, Poet & TV Program Host of Pa’l Cotorreo.

To reserve a spot on our readers list, email info@slpfota.org.
