Still is a nonfiction biography/memoir written by longtime St. Louis Park residents Rebecca Bender and her father Kenneth Bender. It is a history of five generations, a family we meet first as they flee Odessa and last as they make their way as American Jews … and as Dakota farmers, as students and storekeepers, as soldiers and lawyers, and even as a teen in an international competition who stands face-to-face with Netanyahu. Still was published by North Dakota State University (NDSU) Press and recently was named the Winner of the 2019 Independent Press Award (Judaism category). Rebecca will read exerpts from her book and take questions. Books will be available for sale and Rebecca will be signing books following the event.
This event is presented by the St. Louis Park Historical Society, www.slphistory.org
Following the event is the St. Louis Park Historical Society’s Annual Meeting, which is open to anyone interested in staying! The Annual Meeting will cover highlights from this past year, membership and financial update, and key initiatives for the next year - including an update on a new book to be published at the end of the year!
