SLP Friends of the Arts

St. Louis Park Friends of the Arts (FotA) is a nonprofit community organization dedicated to supporting, promoting, and enhancing the arts in St. Louis Park.  We connect people and organizations around the arts, share arts-related information and resources, and coordinate community arts programs. 

SLP Friends of the Arts Values and Statements of Meaning:

  • We believe in making art, high quality art, affordable to all.
  • We believe that artists are essential to the identity of a community.
  • We believe that citizens should have access to experiencing, learning and making art.
  • We believe in the commitment of developing physical facilities for artists & people who appreciate art.
  • We believe in the power of art that is diverse and celebrates different cultures and different life experiences.
  • We believe in the spirit of collaboration with people and as a means of promoting and inspiring art and art forms for a broader community.

Our Goals:

  • Ensure access to the arts for everyone and promote strong community support of the arts by strengthening existing programs and creating new arts opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between community organizations, schools, parks and recreation and community education.
  • Be a resource for community members, artists and existing programs.
  • Provide multicultural and multi-generational arts opportunities.

  • Granting agencies : MRAC, Compass,etc
  • Members (individual, families, etc.)
  • Donors (usually to specific programs)
