Our Town 2014 - Art and Nature
Optimism! That's the key to getting through a harsh winter. Come Spring we'll be unleashing the 2014 OUR TOWN: Nature and Art program series. From May to September, visual artists and community members will come together to explore arts activities focused on the theme of art and nature. We'll have sketching workshops for adults, artist salons for artists to share their work with the public, a community art and nature book club, art making workshops in several community parks for kids and a culminating art exhibit.
Announcing FOTA's new Executive Director, Jaime Meyer!
Please help us welcome Jaime Meyer to St. Louis Park Friends of the Arts. Jaime comes to FOTA with a wealth of nonprofit management, raising money for esteemed organizations such as the Ordway, the MN Opera, United Theological Seminary and One Yoga. It's Jaime's love and passion for the arts that makes him such a terrific fit to lead this community organization into the future. He's been a teaching artist with robust involvement in arts programs throughout Minnesota and around the country as a writer, performer, producer, artistic director and art critic.
"I'm pleased and honored to be selected as FOTA's first formal executive director. This is an organization with a powerful heart and soul and a deep love for how the arts can transform us, inspire us, heal us, and bring us together to celebrate our common humanity. I can't wait to dig in to the work, and I invite all who have a passion for the in arts in St. Louis Park to contact me with ideas and suggestions!" Jaime Meyer
